Meet Dr. Stone McGee, III

Dr. Lawrence Stone (Stoney) McGee, III is a Nephrologist and Co-Owner of Spartanburg Nephrology Associates, LLC of Spartanburg, SC. Dr. McGee advocates and encourages a healthy plant-based lifestyle for all of his patients. He began with Spartanburg Nephrology Associates in November 1995. He is originally from Nashville TN.

Dr. McGee is a Maxima Cum Laude, 1989 graduate at Faculte Libre de Medicine – Lille, France (in 1983 ranked 47th in the world per The Gourman Report). Dr. McGee completed his Internship and Internal Medicine residencies in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA. Dr. McGee also completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the Department of Nephrology, at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. McGee performed Clinical Rotations at Medical College of Pennsylvania. Completed his Undergraduate Studies in Calculus & Chemical Engineering at Vanderbilt University gaining acceptance to Vanderbilt's Graduate School of Chemical Engineering in 1983. Studied Immunology, Microbiology, Chemistry at David Lipscomb College Nashville, TN. Earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree Majoring in Chemistry and Minoring in Biology at Berry College in 1981.


My goal in treatment of Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease (diabetes) revolves around healthy lifestyle.
